Creating Templates in Bukers BTA
Do you often spread financial statements for companies from the same industry? If If so, you may be adding the same sub-accounts to your spreads. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just open a file and all of the accounts you use are already there and ready for you to spread?
We have exciting news for you! You can quickly and easily create templates in Bukers BTA and we will show you how.
There are 2 easy ways to create a template:
Use an Existing File
- Open a file that is similar to the template you want to create.
- Click on File/Save As template and provide a file name. Your file will save with a .BTT file extension.
- Make any changes you would like to make by adding or removing sub accounts and save the file.
Tip: Don’t worry about removing data from the template. Once you close it, all data will be cleared. Because you saved your file as a template, your original BTA file remains unchanged.
Create a Template From Scratch
- Set up a file as you normally do. You only need to add one Financial Statement.
- Once on the Balance Sheet add the sub-accounts you want in the template. Do the same on the Income Statement.
- Click on File/Save As template and provide a file name. Your file will save with a .BTT file extension.
That’s it! You now have a template. To use your template, click on File/Create a new file from template. From this point on, you will follow the same steps you normally do to set up a file. When done you will see all sub-accounts you created for your template and you are ready to input your data.
