Creating and Using Custom Templates in Bukers BTA
Do you often spread financial statements for companies from the same industry? If so, you may be adding the same sub-accounts to your spreads. We have exciting news for you! Bukers BTA gives you the ability to create templates. Here’s how!
Use an Existing File
- Open a file that is similar to the template you want to create.
- Click on File, select Save As template then provide a file name. Your file will save with a .BTT file extension.
- Make any changes you would like to make by adding or removing sub accounts and save the file.
- Tip: Don’t worry about removing data from the template. Once you close it, all data will be removed from the template. Because you saved your file as a template, your original BTA file remains unchanged.
Create a Template From Scratch
- Create a file as you normally do.
- You only need to add one Financial Statement/Tax Return.
- Once on the Balance Sheet add the sub-accounts you want in the template. Do the same on the Income Statement.
- Click on File, select Save As template then provide a file name. Your file will save with a .BTT file extension.
That’s it! You now have a template. To use your template, click on File then select Create a new file from template. From this point on, you will follow the same steps you normally do to create a file. When done you will see all sub-accounts you created for your template and you are ready to input your data.
